I know color is subjective but....
Who has seen an XF in British Racing Green, and how does it look? It's not my first choice, but I have a chance at a great deal if I can live with this color. Thought, feelings, guidance? Talk me into it, please. (Or out of it!)
Key words. Don't settle, get something that you can admire everyday.
Rare.......... or unpopular??????? Hummmmm.......... Just kidding. Color is the absolute objective. Get something you will love to look at everyday!

Most cars these days are either black, white or silver/grey, I think green differentiates the car even more than every else. Not easy to find. I think it looks good. Should mention that it was very important to my wife to get this color.

See if the seller will let you take it for a couple of hours. Drive it to your home and places you would usually go. Get out of it and walk away and then come back in a few minutes. If it doesn't make you smile when you see it and walk up to it, pass and find something that does.

I have a british racing green XF with barley leather and burr walnut. It is 2 weeks old and looks really nice. I don't think it would look good though if it had a "black pack"

I purchased my XK in BRG. When I told my wife about the purchase over the phone she had serious doubts about "green". When I pulled up on our driveway she immediately changed her mind and loved this particular green. Even at the dealership, the service people told me they saw this color as the best of all available colors for the XK. I doubt the XF would be different.

I liked it when I first saw the color. When I brought it home my neighbor, who is also a car guy, said, "A proper British color for a proper British car."
I have received many favorable comments about it and believe it gives it an extra exclusivity factor.
Best wishes for your decision, whatever it may be.

It's odd how that color has changed over the years. I had a 65 XKE in original BRG and it looked nothing like the metallic color jaguar offers now. It wasn't metallic and I have to say I prefer the older color. It was a very dark blackish green and chrome just POPED beside it.
There's something very 80's about the new color IMO. Too much blue.
I found a photo of a very similar car to the one I had. I'd love to see an XF in a non metallic BRG!

It would be interesting. My father had a Mk2 in BRG with Green Leather and Green furflex around the doors. A combination that is not even dreamt of today.
Regarding the change in colours the original BRG was originally on a Napier in 1902 to commemorate the victory in Ireland, then part of the UK. When Brooklands opened in 1903 the car were painted "shamrock green" BUT there are no colour photos so what this colour actually is, is open to debate. None of the surviving cars has original paint and apparently no traces of the paint colour can be found.

I had that choice in 2010 when I purchased my first XF. When I saw the Green car it wasn't that distinctive or green to me and looked like a black car that needed a wash. The Italian racing red and French racing blue is very distinctive. The green to me was more visible when the sun reflected on the metallic on the edges of the fenders. The green I expected would be more like the XKE pictured above and it obviously wasn't. The pure black non-metallic looked much better. Like a piece of black glass. The metallic black looked like a dusty black car that also needed a wash. So I would recommend seeing the car in person. If you buy one of these, you should love it then find the pricing.
