Illuminated Leaper
Ok, I will contact him with the price everyone seems to be willing to pay. I'm sure there are many forum members who could tackle this project. But I agree with the convenience factor.
Hello everyone. I'm new to this community but I've been visiting here for a while to get tips and ideas. I own the white 2010 XFR with the lighted leaper custom built by Bob at Evolution. I just also wanted to share the custom work he did for me on the front emblem.
Thanks for sharing....very cool looking....what did he charge for that and where is he located?
The work was preformed by the same guy who did the leaper. The photo originally that started this thread is the forum members car. He was just sharing what Bob did to his front badge. The company is in California.
I'd subscribed to another thread which started with the illuminated leaper, so was unaware this thread had been started. I'm interested in both the front and rear options. Price would need to be under $75/ea, though. Otherwise, I might attempt it myself. Thanks for driving it.

As for the price, I don't remember, because I had it done over a year ago while I had my windows tinted and interior lights swapped out. I recommend just calling him to get a quote. He is fair, straightforward, and honest.

Just got off the phone with Bob. Here is the final verdict. Single frequency which is just parking light will be $60. If you would like dual frequency which your leaper would get brighter when applying brake will be $75. Shipping is included in the US.
You will receive the unit pre-wired and a template for drilling holes. There will be three small holes to drill. He will provide all necessary 3m tape and materials to do the job.
He is a awesome guy and will answer any questions you may have. Remember this is for the rear leaper. If you are interested in the front badge as well, you can talk to him directly.
So who's gonna be the first?
Do to the shop getting numerous calls daily. Please email and leave number, he will get back to you as soon as he can. Contact: Bob (b912@hotmail.com)

I just had everything taken apart on my trunk to run the wiring from the third brake light to the LED brake light in my new speed pack spoiler, but I didn't think to see how hard accessing the Leaper from the inside would be (to drill the holes and run the wiring). I'll have a look tomorrow sometime. If it looks relatively simple, I'll give Bob a shout.

When you call someone explains he is very busy and will get back to you eventually. I totally understand but I got tired of waiting and made something myself in the meantime since I have and F type and an XJ....
I believe red in the front is illegal in most states so I went with a reflective white LED design against the red background. If anyone looks close enough it's white so I don't expect to be hassled by cops for this. It took me hours to make but that could be because I suck...
Anyway, good luck everyone.

I was hoping for the rear leaper emblem. I already did the front months ago.
I got the bigger red emblem and put a light behind it, so we'll see if I get pulled over or something. Hasn't happened yet.
Putting the bigger one gave me room behind it to mount a stick-on LED light. From there, I used a dremel to sand the back of the emblem down so more light would shine through, then mounted it and it looks pretty good (in my opinion).
Talked to Bob. This is clearly my fault. I was off on his email. He said he will respond to everyone. Sorry for my mistake. b916@hotmail.com
