Default Infotainment system displays a black screen

My 2009 XF is displaying a black screen. Previously my system worked good and would restart every now and then. But recently I left the sun roof open and discovered my carpets were wet, however I closed the sun roof and a day later it rain again I then discovered the floor was really wet due to a leak coming from the cabin filter by way of the windshield shroud.

So after the first day of rain with the sun roof open, the system displayed a flashing screen but eventually turned back on. I believe the PAI module was dead as my USB port did not work but the cigarette lighter port worked.

After the second day, when i discovered a puddle from the cabin filter. The system worked on the way to work but after work the system displayed an infinite flashing screen.

I checked the fuses, all were good. Later that day the screen went black, I then believed that another module (telephone BT) must of went bad.

So I bought 2 optical loops and tried every scenario possible, nothing worked. Except when I unplug the MOST from the touch screen I then receive a flashing logo restart for a minute or two and the red light in the back of the screen flashes. Nothing else seems to work or seems powered.

I obtained the electrical diagrams and alot of other info from TOPIX but I need some help doing further diagnostics. Im thinking the ICM and IAM are bad or they are not getting power.

Any help would be great.

I presume you’ve removed the interior and dried it out already? All the carpets? Checked for damage underneath? I had a leak - well, three, in fact, in my XF. Two in the boot and one from the windshield. I ended up taking the entire interior to pieces to find the sources and dry it all up.

Jag has been intelligent enough to not place all the modules at the bottom level on the floor, rather they’re slightly above it. To me it sounds like one of these modules has been submerged, but you’d know that if you already took the carpets out.

If you haven’t removed the carpets do it asap. They are very thick and suck up impressive amounts of water, which can really mess your electronics up. The telephony module is located under the driver seat and could develop issues if wet.

I removed and dried out the carpet on both sides the drivers side was damp and I assume it messed up the audio USB module as it was no longer working after the first time it rained but the bluetooth module may be messed up as well but i remember that still worked. It was the passenger side which was soaked with water and the tpms module is burnt on the mother board. I ran a loop to bypass the usb and bluetooth modules but this was after the black screen appeared and no success.

I'm struggling with same problem. I wonder if you managed to solve the problem and can share some thought.
