Has anyone managed to sucessfully swap facelift x250 buttons and climate/entertainment controlls from a facelift X250 into a pre-facelift X250?

I prefer the look of the later cars control panel/buttons being black and wondered if anyone has been able t perform teh swap? was it plug and play or was there any modifications needed?

I amaware i would need to buy the dash trim piece to accomodate the new buttons that run below the infotainment screen as they appear to be a different shape but was looking for any pitfals or reasons it wouldnt work before i embark on a potentially expensive journey.
