Default iPod Weirdness

So, today my iPod that worked fine so far acted up. I have a 2012 XF and I use the standard Apple cable. Today the problem started: I can see what is on my iPod, I can scroll through albums and the iPod is connected but I cannot play anything. It just sits there but does not start playing.
ANybody encountered this before.? I swapped the cable to no avail.

Can't really speak for 2012MY, but on the previous models, on the audio screen there is a "pause" and a "play" button. Make sure it's not on "pause".

Yeah. toggling between Pause and Play does not help. "pause" displays "pause", but "play" just has it stuck at whatever time into the song you happen to be.
I will swap devcies and see if it persists.

Maybe a hard reset of the ipod? Those things can freeze up from time to time. Just a suggestion.

Happened to me a few times on my 2012 XFR. Just unplug the IPOD and plug it back in. If it doesn't work then stop/re-start engine should do the trick.
