Jaguar 2013
You should really test drive them to see and feel the difference. I've heard the 2.0 4-cylinder is far underpowered for such a luxury vehicle. As for the v6, I've heard that's got a good amount of power although people say it doesn't compare in both performance and sound to the NA V8 from 2012 and prior years. As far as maintenance, how long do you plan on keeping the vehicle? If more than 4 years, I strongly recommend getting an extended warranty. As far as sound system, I think both the 2.0 and 3.0 versions have the same system. Not until you get to the V8 Supercharged model does the sound system get better with the 380watt Meridian System.
Just my opinion, but if it was my money, I'd opt for a 2012 XF Supercharged version. In the same price range as a 2013 2.0 or 3.0.

I'd run from the 2.0. I've said this every time someone on the forum asks. It's not fun to drive. My GF's Optima Turbo is a much better car to drive than the XF 2.0, especially in town. On the freeway the 2.0 is not that bad.
I agree with the last poster, get a 2012 SC or Portfolio. Even if you spend a bit more, the experience is definitely worth it. The interior trim is in another class. And you can buy an extended warranty as long as your factory warranty is still in place if you plan on keeping it a bit longer.

Well I bought the 3.0 v6 and I love it. It handles great and has plenty of power. The sound system is ok but I am adding a powered sub. I am not sure what you are driving now so what a lot of power to you might be different than my definition. I have a Lincoln LS v8 that is tuned and I have driven a 7 series bmw a bunch. This thing is just fun to drive.
I love the V6. The AWD V6 is a bit weak though in comparison to the 2WD. I have no complaints aside from the tires. The contitrac's are defniately not the best tire for the car. Check out the review on tirerack.com for more review info.
The 2.0L is atrocious. The 2.0L XF is the standard loaner car I get at my dealership, and it is WOEFULLY underpowered for the XF chassis's weight. The turbo lag is very pronounced, and makes for a very unenjoyable driving experience. The interior materials are also a significant step down.
The dealer mentioned that they over-ordered 2L XFs last year, and were more or less forced to turn them into loaners bc nobody wanted to buy them. That should tell you all you need to know.

Well, the AWD V6 is not as fast as the RWD, I'll grant you, but 6.1, 0-60 is still pretty damn good, as good as my '96 XJR, and given the advantages of AWD in northern climates, one heck of a car! I'm very happy with mine! If you live north of Mason-Dixon line, I'd go a few $K more and get an AWD. You won't regret it.

Just drove a '14 XF 3.0 AWD as a loaner car while my '09 4.2-S/C was in for service. It was a nice ride. Competent handling, amply powered, but not close in passing power to mine. I thought the 8speed hunted a fair amount despite driving in dynamic and sport mode most of the time. The loaner was a little stripped down for options (no nav, blind spot, rear camera, cooled seats) but it was as nice and comparable to my father in laws infiniti Q50. I put just over 600 miles on it, averaged 21 mpg (and I disabled that stupid Eco stop/start every time I got into it). It was quiet and did not have the V8 rumble, but the AWD served us very well one morning when there was snow on the ground. The sound system was definitely lacking compared to the B&W system.

Of all of the options and upgrades you can get I would say the premium for the 3.0L over the 2.0L is a no brainier. I'm not an audiophile by any means but I think the Meridian unit(380W in mine) is pretty good, though I believe you can step up to the top level sound system if you wanted.
I've had my 14' AWD SC v6 now about two weeks. I find it drivers great and handles great. I had to miss some wood dropped on the highway and did a panic swerve with it. Did amazing. I have an 07 XK as well and I think it runs just as well. Mine does have the upgrade 380w sound system. While it sounds great, it's nothing compared to the Premium Alpine in my XK. It's quiet and has been getting average 26 mpg. Mine doess have the Premium Pkg, Portfolio Pkg and the Appearance Pkg.
