Default The Jaguar ALIVE Driving Experience

Has anyone gone to this? They have added a few more locations (for folks in the Northeast) since I last looked.

Also for those folks that don't have an R you can pay for the Performance Academy - CT location is there now too..

I did the Jaguar Alive thing about a month ago. It was absolutely incredible, and was worth an admission charge. The fact that it was totally free made it even better. First there was an informative presentation followed by a drive of the top of line XJ. Mine was a XJL Supersport, about 120K bucks. Man, what a drive! After that they took us to the autocross course where you get 3 laps with a famous race driver in the car with you one on one giving you cornering tips, the third lap is timed. Finally you get to drive an XK-RS (around 600 hp and 130 K price) for a 0-60 run with a different race driver, which they video (you get the video later). Before you leave there is food and soft drinks and a nice gift bag.

This sounds like a awesome day... I can't wait, Seems like really good fun. I did something like this with SRT day. I had considered getting the 300 SRT8 but went with Jag instead.

Yes, I went to Jaguar Alive also. It was as Swimref described. There was also a session where they had us floor it in an XFR on a very slippery surface, to show how traction control worked. With traction control on, the drive wheels did not spin at all. With it off, the wheels spun but there was no traction so the car essentially stood still.

The event was a blast.

I have been to two events in Dallas and can tell you I was sold on Jaguar after the first one. The first one was on a day in December in which it was lightly sleeting so I got to see how the cars handled in a wintry setting. I attended the second after I purchased my XF to see what I missed in the first event and was equally impressed.

I went in April in Irvine California. And it was unforgettable!

I'll be heading to Chicago in early October for my first experience. I've heard nothing but great reviews from everyone.

To those who went. did you guys have to pay any type of fees?
Also, i wouldn't be doing all the beating on my car correct? They provide us with the vehicles?

They will be in Flushing, NY in November - the reason for all the questions. I would like to attend!

When I went about a year ago they provided all brand new 2012 models. Most cars had under 500 miles on them. No fees once you're there. I think they might have had some additional promotional merchandise you could pick up if you had the desire, but other than that there was no need for cash.

Go. You will not regret it. There's nothing like power-drifting a $100,000 car around a figure 8 course. I still think about it and have to fight the desire to try in my car again.
