Jaguar XF 09 problem
I am having a problem with my 09 Jaguar XF the screen comes on but goes back in and out, I can’t control the buttons for the volume or heat the Defrost buttons don’t work and the shop can’t find a problem I saw a few similar cases need an answer please!!
The screen flashing on and off is usually due to a break in the MOST link.
This is an optical loop between all the devices in the entertainment system.
To find out which device is causing the problem, you need a MOST link jumper which can be bought off ebay.

You should start with the module nearest the Information and Entertainment Control Module which is usually the Touch Screen but I'd start with the Bluetooth module and PAI module beneath the passengers seat so you can see if the system is booting. Both these can be unplugged together as there is a common connector. Use the jumper to bridge the link and then reboot the system. I've done this by pulling the fuse from the RJB. If the screen flashes back up properly you know its one of the modules that's the fault. The problem with determining which of these modules is that the PAI module has a 2+4 connector which cant be jumpered in the same way.
If the screen continues to go on and off then reconnect and proceed around the loop disconnecting modules and jumpering, then resetting until the screen comes back on.
The order should be:
Amp
Nav Module
DAB Module
TV Module
If you have IDS or SDD you can also do a network test. If the modules all appear again, you know you've jumpered the faulty module.
