lol....not THAT simple...I am stuck again...what else is holding down the supercharger to the block??? Also...is it possible to just remove the S/C at this point? I don't want to break the seals on the intakes so I would really prefer to just remove the S/C at this point, but if its not possible then I will keep following Bigg Will's teardown thread.

so by Jaguar service techs owns words..."Someone should be shot for designing the cooling system this way"....there it is...no one likes it. DEAL WITH IT !!!,,,,HAHAHAHA

Starting off...get a service manual. If you have cooling system issues, FRIST...or its that FIRST....anyways...get a pressure gauge (rent one from autozone, etc...about $250). This alone will save you a bunch of time. Once you pressure test the system, you will know here your coolant leak is. Simple. After that....(depending on where the leak is)....fix it...any questions? I will be glad to help if you ask....or follow this dude https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ssover-187802/

In fairness, I'd agree with the tech. Especially whoever designed that plastic pipe with o-rings that sits behind the water pump, and the mounting design of the water pump itself - someone needs to be taken outside and shot for that. I cannot conceive of a mind who decided that was the best way of approaching the design. It's just awful.

Much like all OEMs parts are outsourced from all over the industry. The engines are assembled in a dedicated Jaguar facility.

WOW, i install a tune late last week which created a coolant leak. My leak is in the upper coolant outlet pipe shown in post #14... I pulled off the bad part today and hope the local dealer has one in stock.

I would never have associated a tune with a coolant leak..

Jag dealers should be able to get them quickly if they don't already have them.

You shouldn't associate the two things. I made the same mistake, but in actuality, the coolant system design is bad. If I were you, I would be ready to R&R most of the coolant system. Bigg Will has an excellent write up. I did what he did ...pretty much replaced hoses, pipes, etc. with the exception of the heater core crossover pipe that is in the back of the engine. My car is a V6 so there is not much heat generated in the back since the last two cylinders are blanked.

If it was a cracked front crossover pipe, most likely someone leaned too hard on it when replacing the pulley.

Best not to even touch any of those plastic parts while working under the hood.

nope. Those things are getting replaced often. I am on my third !! The sonic welding is bad and they are getting bad batches here and there. The plastic just isn't holding up to the engine temps. I spoke at length with the service advisors about this over a coffee and the old guys are saying that since the switch to plastic coolant pipes, there has been tons of warranty repairs related to those parts. He wanted to know why I was replacing those myself since my car is still under warranty. I did let them do the upper ones under warranty, but the one underneath the S/C would have required them to reflash my car. I had actually misplaced my VTech so couldn't get the stock tune back on and was woried about them finding out. IT was a fun project to do anyways, and I learned alot about the intake and got ideas of where to tap for the funny gas when it comes time.

FYI I changed all my plastics like big will and after my car sprung a mysterious leak a while after that one day that I could not find. Turned out to be #4 on the diagram. The plastic coolant bleed screw split under the head and was bleeding fluid on the side of the motor. When I went to unscrew it to replace it the head snapped clean off leaving the broken shaft in the line. It was so soft I couldn't remove it with anything because it turned to mush with any tool I applied to it. I eventually had to hammer a flat blade screwdriver all the way through it and barely got it backed out. Fortunately a lot of cars have these screws and apparently BMW has learned this lesson and makes a o-ringed brass one available at Advance Auto Parts that fits perfectly. I paid $6.80. Teflon tape on the threads and leak fixed. So sad that a $4 plastic screw could leave me stranded. Topped it off, bled it and problem fixed. Didn't cost much $$ but cost me a day of looking for it and of course my daily driver was in the shop at the time forcing me to walk to advance auto from my house right before they closed at night. I want to start a all metal plastic replacement service on luxury cars. This $#!* is ridiculous.

Ive found a leak in my 2012 Jaguar XF portfolio heater manifold. Part # 18 on the diagram. The new part cost 50$ so I got it ordered and on the way. I was looking around for a diy video of how to replace the part but can't find one anywhere I was wondering if anyone has experience with replaceing this part and can help me out a bit. I'd appreciate any info thank you guys✌️
