I have a 5.0l V8 in my 2011 XF and I think I will wait for Jag to bring back the V8 in the new model. There is no substitute for the feel of the low end torque on the V8. The styling though is very nice in the new model. I can't wait to test drive on this fall.

I think you'll be waiting quite a while for that.

My guess is a supercharged V6 will be the biggest engine you'll see in the XE or XF.

Amen to that..

that's why I got the last year of the 5.0L NA before they started putting in those anemic V6's and 4 cylinders...

No offense to those that have one, but it just ain't the Jaguar I know.

It looks nice, but I prefer the older model. Then again I must be the oldest 30 year old on the planet because I still prefer round headlights and leapers.

From what I heard is that Jaguar will be bringing back the V8 in the next year or two. I am in no hurry because I usually keep the cars that I really like for atleast ten years. So I won't need one for a few more years for sure. Proper maintenance and a little bit of luck should help to keep my XF and I happy for a few years.

If they do I predict it will only be in the top model with supercharging as is the case in North America now. I am sceptical about that but you never know. Who ever expected the Ford F-150 Raptor super truck to come with a turbo V6 instead of the 6.2 litre V8?

And with the new Ford GT making serious power with a turbo six I'm not quite as sure as I was a few months ago that a V-8 will be coming

I am just old school I guess. There is nothing like the sound from a N/A V8 engine. And this coming from an owner of an electric car!

A V12 would also be nice and to get one of those costs a bundle. For how much longer too?

wow I wouldnt think Jaguar will ever bring back a V12 unless for some special project or something, but not for their normal line up.

That would be awesome.

Sadly no. My point is that soon no major manufacturer will build a V12. It seems likely the V8 will become rare.
