Default Jiffy lube

I left jiffy lube change out my drain bolt because i was lazy one day and so they did it, first my whole skid plate comes off on the freeway then i come under the car 2k 3kmiles later, and my drain bolt doesnt want to come off, it stripped and its rounded off. Should i just get a new pan? If so would this oil pan fit on it i cant seem to find any for my car but this looks almost identical plus it fits an XKR which is the same motor as my XF

heres the link to the oil pan

https://jaguar.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/jaguar-oil-pan-aj89496

also if you look at the gasket it fits an XF too

Lesson learned about Jiffy Lube I guess?

Can you drill it out? They're pretty large bolts so I'm thinking you could get a hefty extractor in there and probably have it out without that much anyway. I'd do it anyway even if you get a new pan just because being able to drain the oil before removing the pan probably makes it a lot less messy...

Use a 5 sided box wrench or a 5 sided socket instead of 8 sided. You'll easily stripped the head of the bolt with an 8 sided.
Go to Jiffy Lube and show them your receipt the last time they did the OCI for you. Tell them they over tightened the bolt & it rounded off while you're doing your own OCI. They have a special tool there that can easily loosened the rounded bolt. Tell them to lightly tighten the bolt so that you can perform your OCI. Remember, the oil will drip from the bolt on your way home. If you don't have the receipt, they have a record in the data base the last time they did an OCI.

If & only if they cannot get the bolt out, there is still a solution. Very easy, no more messy oil job & it takes less than 45 minutes to do an OCI

Or put a vise grip on the bolt and try to remove it before you replace the pan There are many options to removing a rounded bolt

Spiral sockets from Autozone will get it off, just hammer it on tight and use a breaker bar.

Pan looks like the right one but type in your serial number to verify.
But I got to ask why replace the oil pan? Is it damaged? I normally just pull the old pan off ,clean it up. Put a new gasket with sealer on it and reinstall. Note the picture from Jaguar has a small container next to the gasket. I think this is the special sealer they want you to use. I would find and use the correct sealer if possible.

Just a hint? I would wipe everything clean underneath the car and check how and where the oil returns. Remember the oil pan is on the bottom of the engine so any leak will always go down and eventually drip off the bottom of the engine. Hate to see you replace the oil pan gasket and still have a leak.

OK but they have repair kits for that too? You can do it in place without removing the oil pan?

This is a very nice SS one and only $25! Plus when installed it's a SS plug you remove to change oil.
