Let me first say that sitting on the sidelines for a couple months on this forum convinced me to pull the trigger on the new car....The knowledge being shared here is very helpful to say the least.

Just purchased a 2012 Ultimate Black XFR. Got some other accessories and also ordered the Mina exhaust....Great car so far, but I think I'll be in jail soon if I don't install a proper radar detector (with laser protection). I've live in Bucks Country, PA - about 30 miles north of Phili (I can travel to NJ if necessary). Does anyone know of skilled local auto electronics shops that have experience with the Escort system?

Thanks.

Can't help on the detector, but congratulations on the car! The power on my SC is intoxicating enough, the R adds a notch. Any chance if you have the red interior? Post some photos. I am deliquent with mine but hope to care of that over the weekend.

Congratulations - sounds beautiful. Nice to see a neighbor on the forum (I grew up across the river in NJ and still spend time in the area). I'm roughing it with a base XF and am also in the market for someone who can be trusted with these cars' electronics (the OEM sound system is pitiful). Will let you know if I hear anything!

Thanks...
Appreciate the feedback.

To answer the question about the interior, it's actually black/charcoal. Red would look stunning- I'm sure - on this car though.

Who would have thought it would be so difficult to find a reputable auto electronics shop/installer in the area...

ENORMIS Mobile Specialties
Can't vouch for pricing or long term quality, but have seen their work on installation and it looked quite good.

Good Luck with your new purchase.. Enjoy it....
As for a good place to work on your new ride.. Thats a hard one to answer.. Not many people I would trust digging into my car that way.. But I will look around for you..

Just get the Valentine 1 and you've got the best detector out there... right around $400.00. I can attest to it's effectiveness... If you're looking to go the remote route I might be able to hook you up with one of the most knowledgeable guys in this area (radar/LIDAR). PM me if you're interested...

I went to the dealer and my salesman asked one of the tech's if he would hard wire my Valentine for 50 bux CASH! No muss, no fuss and I know it's tied in to the correct location because a Jag Tech did it. Took about 10 minutes.

Glad you are so confident... that's what it's all about. After my dealership experience this past spring I don't have that dealership=right fuzzy feeling anymore... lol The V1 is the best detector out there (this is the one I have also) and remember, your detector is only as smart as the driver...
