Limits of the 5.0 Superchargerd engine?
OKay, so the differences between the xf-s,. xfr, xfr-s is a matter of tuning.
But what is the real limit of these engines?
And what about other components? I have a 2010 xf-s and I cant find hp limits on the transmission or rear end.
We can drop pulley sizes, add additional flow to the intercooler (or gut the supercharger and use the case as a plenum for a turbo setup) but I have not seen anyone do anything for very high horsepower numbers.

There are some economic reasons for the limits on progress.
1. Not many are sold.
2. The owners typically aren't the type that modify their cars.
3. Tuners and parts suppliers know this so there's little to be gained developing parts. All solutions will be very low volume, if you can get anyone to do them in the first place.
4. We as a group won't pay exorbitant amounts for the mods. BMW guys routinely pay $3K for an exhaust. Very few here will (although some of the F-Type guys might).
That's what we get for loving a niche brand that most don't modify. It has its charms and limitations.
And the limit of the rear end at the dragstrip is what I have...trust me, I know from experience. No fun getting towed off the track.

I was talked out of a wet setup. What are your thoughts regarding engine mods?
Well, for starters the blocks on these engines are built quite well, and they don't skimp out on the quality of internal components. As with most manufacturers, they never build an engine to its full potential, because it needs to last. Given that the XFR 5.0L is rated 500hp, doing simple bolts on most likely wouldn't hurt anything, as long as you know what you're doing. If its in warranty, I would leave it alone. If you're still dead set on doing mods, keep in mind, these as with most cars these days, benefit a lot with software tuning. It's just a matter of finding someone who can do it properly.
These guys where getting some BIG hp numbers out the AJ133SC https://www.drive2.ru/r/jaguar/1354304/
but they have grenaded a couple, with just a cast crank I'd say 620 hp would be about the reasonable limit.

Skys the limit!!! How far do you want to go and what defines the limit of tuning??? Cost no object you can takeva bespoke route with block/pistons heads and crank, turbo charging!! Now there is a thought!! A 5.0 turbo set up could see 1000hp.......think you would need to sell a kidney to fund the development though and some.....and you end up changing so much of the engine is it really the same engine at the end of the day....... i have a local tuning company that achieve 610hp with bolt ons so would say 610-620 is kind of the limit......
I might just go for a 75hp nitrous shot dry. the car should be able to dump enough fuel to compensate.
Actually a wet setup is kind of brilliant. Some fuel in the intake might help to wash the valves from time to time.
