Looking for help Identifying my Jaguar
My father was a huge Jaguar fan and owned several over the years. He recently died and I inherited his 2015 Jaguar XF-RS. It is my understanding that there were only 100 copies of this car imported to the USA and I am curious to figure out if there is a way to identify which number of the 100 this car is.
I tried to find a VIN decoder thinking it would tell me, but I haven't found what I'm looking for... Can anyone help me?

I can't help you with your main question but just a heads up, if the car is what I think it is (with the 550 PS 5.0 V8 SC) then it is an XFR-S not an XF-RS (AKA R-Sport).
Massive, yuge, ginormous difference between the two so it helps a lot to get the name right when asking for help.

I meant to add that I knew it was a rare car when I took it to the Jaguar Dealer for an Oil Change and an employee came in and announced "There's an XFR-S in the Bay!" and three people headed for the door, one of them commenting, "Oh, Cool! I've never seen one in person!" And the rep who was working with me said, "Yeah, but I have the key!!"
Just a note? There was no S-Type RS? There was an S-Type R and there is a low line model in the XJ/XF line (Maybe others too?) that is confusingly called an R sport.
Maybe post some pictures as the car should be badged as an XFR-S?

You will not be able to know which number of the 100 if there were only 100 for US market. See the vin numbers are sequential when they come of the line, Example they make an XFRS with the last 5 of 00001 the next car could be a regular XF 00002, and and XF Portfolio 00003. See they can not not make all the XFRS at the same time. Sorry you may not be able to figure that out. I do not think Jaguar USA will be able to answer that. They may be able to send you the build sheet for the car, but you have to show them proof you are the car owner. They are not great to deal with. Now to find out exactly how many of your XFRS were produced for the US market. You can contact Jaguar Heritage and pay them to do the research, and they can do that, you could ask for if they could figure out the production sequence compared to the other XFRS of that year, but they charge per hour for research. Good luck and let us know what you find.

How would you do this when Jaguar doesn't seem to be able to do it?
I have figured out how to search thought VINs and find the ones that have been registered in the US only. I also can find the color combinations and production date that the car came off the line. Jaguar could do it, but it is not worth it to them. If you give me you VIN I would have a starting point. I have to search through every VIN, but I have figured out the formula that is used for the US cars, so for me to search 1000 cars takes a few days, but easy.
