Map Lights with a mind of their own!
Hello All!
This is my first post with a question. Has anyone had the experience of the front map lights coming on by themselves? The map light on the driver's side has taken to coming on in the afternoon on my trip home. It only has happened when the temp has been up to 70 deg and sunny. Could it be the sensor that is causing it to come on?

Mine did the same thing. Dealer replaced the sensor module and said it was very common. Mine started doing that after they replaced a rain sensor.
good luck.

I've replaced these globes several times.
Not because they were acting up, but to swap out the stock sickly yellow globes for either blue or bright white LEDs. On two XFs now.
At least twice, after installing the LEDs, one or other would flicker occasionally.
After studying the bulb holder and how it fits/locks into the socket, I concluded that the problem was caused by one or both of the little connecting tangs on the back of the bulb holder not fully engaging with it's electrical connection. I gently bent these tangs in a little, so they would fit more tightly, and no more flickering.
I suspect that the act of removing the bulb holder (twist about 45 degrees and pull out) can 'open up' these tangs just enough to cause a poor connection when you re-insert them.
