Metal clanks (sound)
First things first. Get out your lug wrench and check that the lug nuts are all tight. Next you've got to stick you head up under the car and look for anything that's obviously hanging loose. Nothing swinging around free? Now visually inspect all the rubber boots. Any torn? Any look like all the grease has leaked out? I know there's no gloves to be found in stock anywhere due to COVID, but grab a hold of suspension and brake components and even exhaust parts (after they've cooled down please) and push, pull and shake. Anything obviously loose, moving around or making contact with something its not supposed to? Next, raise that wheel off the groundand repeat the inspections above, but add grabbing the wheel at the 12 and 6 positions, push at 12, pull at 6 and vice versa. Any movement? Try it at 3 and 9. Still nothing obvious, remove the wheel so you can get a better look and go through it all again. Nothing still? Put the wheel back on, lower it back to the ground and try shaking things again but this time use a long pry bar, metal pipe or locking pliers, whatever you need to apply a little more leverage than you can with just your hands and carefully test various joints and unions for looseness. Generally anything that will make a clunk sound like that will be found with such an inspection. If you can't find it on your own, at least by the time you take it to a mechanic, you'll be familiar with all the components under there and he won't likely be able to sell you a bunch of parts that you don't need.
I had this clanck from the rear, it ended up being the bar behind the seats, the metal gets twisted, and makes this sound took me months to find it, at first I though it was suspension related. I had to drill a hole through both metal frames and get a long bolt to tighten them, that cured the problem I'll post a picture later.
