Default Mpg

Hi I will rephrase the question I asked earlier.Just wondering what sort of miles per gallon some of you guys are getting on your 2.7 ltr XFs.
Be interested in MPG for short runs and long runs.
This is just out of curiosity as I expect an engine like this not to be economic but from my point of view as I do not do a lot of miles I prefer a little bit of luxury to economy.
Be pleased for any comments.

Make sure to do regular long runs to clear the DPF. It's not designed for short runs. You want a petrol if that's what you do.

If I just do short trips with an extremely heavy right foot and lots of hanging about in traffic I have had as low as 19mpg average. With good mixed driving with a heavy foot I get about 25mpg and on a run using cruise control at 70mph I get about 43mpg.

On the DPF aspect, I get an amber DPF warning about every 2-3 months, 60mph for 8 miles clears it. When I bought the car, the previous owner had some dipstick fill it with the incorrect oil..I was then getting DPF light every two weeks!!!! I drained the engine and filled it with Millers Oils XF LONGLIFE C1 5w30 and it has been fine since.

Thanks for the reply you guys that's just about what I suspected but extremely interested to hear about the DPF and I will certainly give your recommendations a try.
