Hey if you got a tool that you wondered how you got along without it, post it!

The band hose clamp re-leaser, No more trying to hold loose those pesky hose clamps with channel locks.

This ratchet can loosen or tighten by either sweeping or turning the handle.

Trim removal tool. Just the thing for those plastic press clips..

I have a Husky twist ratchet like yours. It is a great addition to the tool box. I should get that clamp removal tool. Those damn coolant
clamps can be a pain in the *** sometimes.

Another ratchet that I picked up is this dual 3/8" and 1/4" ratchet. It is a 3/8" ratchet on one side and 1/4" on the other. It's also short to get in hart to reach paces and the rubber handle lets you put a little more muscle into it when you need to. Mine is a Husky but here is a random one I found online that looks just like it:

As far as general tools (not car related) I picked up a multi-tool a while back for cutting wood trim (while it was installed) and various other hard to cut items. I couldn't live without it now. You can get metal cutting blades so I suppose you could use it to cut the supercharger pulley off.

I have all of those tools and many more.

But what's the good solution for programming and diagnostics for the XF?

I have a 2008 Range Rover Sport, and I bought one of these for it:
IIDTool for Land Rover - GAP Diagnostic

It's freaking awesome. I can read everything from all the modules in the vehicle, and I can even program new keys, change ride height settings, reset everything after working on items (e.g. transmission needs a reset after a fluid change, and it's the same transmission in our XFs, so they probably need it too).

Along with all those hand tools, a good programmer is what's needed to stay away from the dealer. So what's everyone using?

After seeing the left foot big toe, I'd say steel-toed flip-flops are a must too.
