At my wits end, help!
Sorry my first post here is a plea for help.
I've had a C.P.O. 2010 XFR for about a year now. I have about 6 months left on the warranty
The darn thing has had electrical issues over and over again.
It started with the Nav/entertainment unit cutting out, endless rebooting.
Merritt Island Jaguar said it was an AC leak, replaced the compressor and the nav unit
Less than a month later, they replaced the Nav unit again, said the water was coming from my windshield. They tell me Its not covered, so I have to pay for them to reseal the windshield.
Now, a few months later, the car shuts down on the highway, lights start flickering, my speedo shows 0-50-0-50-0-50 and i get an E-Diff Fault as I'm slowing down and getting off the highway.
They tell me water is still getting in through the windshield. Now they say I must replace the entire windshield, also not covered, over 1k out of pocket...
No one can tell me how a new windshield will fix anything, but they insist it will fix it.
I feel like they're just stringing me along until its out of warranty
Anyone seen issues like this?
Anyone know how to fix it?
Anyone want to buy an XFR under 30k miles?

Unless the glass is cracked, just replacing it is not going to stop a leak. If it's not sealed properly, that's not the glasse's fault. I would not under any circumstances pay them to replace the windshield especially as they are not giving you a real reason as to why. At this point, I wouldn't trust them. Do you have another option?
It is not rocket science to see if a window is leaking, and where. I would sure get it fixed soon. No doubt it has already done long term damage to the electronics, and more water will only make it worse.
If this thing is CPO and the dealer is dicking you around, call Jaguar NA and get them involved.

You've reported the fault and it isn't getting fixed before the warranty is out - that's on them for not doing it correctly and in a timely manner.
Sounds like a really shoddy dealer.
Before we indict the dealer, the facts need to be understood. For instance, is it the original windscreen, or was it replaced by a non Jaguar entity? What does the extended warranty cover? For instance, I do not believe my CPO extended warranty covers corrosion, which I expect might be involved in this case. I believe it covers certain mechanical equipment, not seats, interior parts, paint, corrosion and so on.
To expect a dealer or car manufacturer to cover everything on a car after the bumper to bumper warranty has expired is unrealistic.
It is quite possible the salesman gave a good speech on why a 6 year old car with a CPO warranty was "as good as new", but in most legal jurisdictions, when there is written declaration like the warranty documents, the salesman's utterances are considered "puffing" and are not a valid basis for a claim. It is up to the purchaser to check the written documents to determine what he is buying.
In general, I don't like dealers much myself, but lets be fair. Calling them shoddy without the facts is, well, shoddy.

I'd bet that they're saying to replace the windshield because they don't think they can remove it without breaking it to replace the sealant. It's probably the most thorough way to go about it, but it's tough to say it's necessary. Dealers tend to replace parts, not fix existing parts, so I'd probably agree with the previous comment - take it to a windshield place and ask them if it can be fixed.
