Default My XFR - Drag'd and Dyno'd

Hi, I bought the car a few months ago, and been looking for an excuse to get on the strip and on the dyno.

Here's the results.

June 2013 - Elvington Airfield - Straighliners RWYB day
Car was bone stock - no tyre pressures alterered - Just turned up and drove
Car was quickest at launching with me in control and not the electronics.

August 2013 - Dyno Session - ACSpeedtech - Dyno Dynamics Rolling road

Quite happy with that
For those that don't know - The 459 figure is at the wheels and the 584 is at the flywheel (which car manufacturers quote) using calculated losses.

How did you arrive at your calculated losses? It would seem that if the manufacturer claims ~510 HP, and you dyno'd at 459, the calculated loss would be 510 HP, or 10% (which seems really low).

Do you have any details about the conditions? I was monitoring my car at the strip this weekend, and the DA and IAT seemed to have a pretty big impact on my 1/4 mile times.

^^I agree Rakka. Im for the most part have always been on a dyno dynamics dyno for development/mods/tuning since day 1. manufaturer rated 260hp flywheel 191rwhp on a dynodynamics(AKA HEARTBREAKERS)
After Eaton install 258rwhp then went on a Dyno jet to the tune of 308rwhp no changes, 60HP differance.(why people love Dyno Jet dynos)
Im now at 337rwhp on a dyno dynamics with the Ken Bell twin screw.
I think theyve adjust calculations to more closely duplicate a Dyno Jet.
Also I know a couple people here and one local that have pulled high 11's in the qtr with their 5 litre XFR's. so What altitude were you at and temps

Manufacturer claims 503bhp at flywheel as standard (510PS)

My made 459bhp at the wheels, which, equates, roughly to 583bhp at the flywheel (21% losses)

As far as I'm aware, no one in the UK with a standard car has done lower than a 12.7s 1/4 mile, there has been a few doing the same times though.

This is great stuff. But that is a superb drivetrain loss number. Even rear-engined Porsches have more loss than that...

Your trap speed is interesting. My best run so far has been 12.332 @ 114.7 - nowhere near your 122. Did the car seem to hook alright coming out of the hole?

It is really great to see other members taking their cars to the strip!

Having been drag racing for the last 15 years, the 'trap speed' at this particular event has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
It's not measured in the same way as a typical drag strip (they measure over the last 66ft).
I reckon the trap speed should have read about 112-116mph.

Having said the above, though, their ET's have always been fairly accurate, so I was confident in the time produced.
