Default The Mystery Of The OBD Reset

Anyone ever experienced this mystery?
2014 XF 100K milesJUNE
Experienced rough idle. Technician replaced the valve cover gasket. Did not scan for codes. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT Rough idle continued. Technician replaced 02 sensor THEN scanned for codes and reset codes. Rough idle went away. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
DROVE TO FLORIDA
Filled up with gas night before trip back home…Rough idle returned. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Took vehicle to a non-jaguar shop in Florida. Vehicle sputtered and almost stopped running. Non-jaguar shop scanned for codes. Over 50 codes popped up. Kept the vehicle for three weeks. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Shop cleared the codes. Rough idle went away. Shop did not perform any repairs.

JULY
Drove back to Atlanta. Stopped for gas after two hours. Rough idle came back immediately. Kept driving. Vehicle went into recovery or “limp” mode to avoid severe damage. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Found a repair shop. Car was sputtering and about to stop running. Asked them to reset the codes. They did and rough idle went away. Drove 200 more miles to Atlanta. 20 minutes from home CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, but car still runs fine. No rough idle.

We need the actual numbers not a picture of a print out?
Try to get the car on a Jaguar SDD system for best results.

Hi I don't know if a 2014XF is built in the same fashion as a 2012 but you may want to check for water ingress in the passenger foot well area. I took a look at the pdf's you posted and some of the codes and the behavior you described is similar to what I experienced in a 2012XF after water ingress due to blocked sunroof drains.Over time and especially after heavy steady rain water accumulated under the carpet beneath the passenger seat. There are control modules located there for the TPMS system and climate control seat modules as well as wiring looms with ground points. In my case all sorts of electrical gremlins ( body control module / comm errors) would appear after heavy rain or washing the car and then seemingly disappear without displaying a check engine light ( never stalled but it would run rough like "bad gas" ).
