Default Need Advice

Just got done removing the supercharger/manifold from my 2013 Jaguar XF (5.0). Does anyone happen to know the part number for the hose that’s circled in the 3rd picture? Is there anything else under here that can cause a coolant leak? I just want to make sure before putting it back together. I’m pretty sure it’s the Outlet Pipe, some of it even stayed inside when I pulled it out. Let me know what you guys think

I think the pipe/hose you've outlined in red is part of the symposer and is used to transmit induction noise into the cabin. Sorry, I don't have a part number. Related to the cooling system, there is also the rear heater manifold in that area. It's a plastic part that connects both cylinder heads and also connects to some other hoses.. Are you going to use the new design of "Y" pipe and upper manifold when you put it back together?

Oh boy, you better hope that none of that plastic from the end of the y connector went into the cooling system. On Range Rovers, when the plastic gets old, it breaks off in chunks and gets stuck in the heater core, and then requires replacement of a very hard to remove heater core to restore working heat.

What color is your coolant? Hard to tell from the pics.

It looks mostly green. Has someone been mixing in green coolant with the factory orange coolant? A huge no-no if so.

Good spot, dunno how I missed it, that coolant is definitely green which should never be mixed with the factory orange/pink coolant.
Although I vaguely remember reading on here somewhere that the colour of the coolant no longer signifies the exact type or chemical composition of the coolant and there are supposedly some green coolants that are OK to use in modern Jags.

Hopefully I can find out that part number, didn’t seem to have coolant running through it. The guy at the dealer was telling me about the new design, but I still don’t get how it’ll work, they got rid of that upper fitting that seals it to the upper outlet. The coolant is green due to a UV Dye that was inserted into the system.

I’ll definitely be replacing the rear manifold/coolant pipe while I have it all taken apart.

Yep, it's definitely the Symposer tube which has nothing whatsoever to do with the coolant system so something very strange going on if it's got coolant in it.

No coolant in that line, I just thought that it led to the heater core or something.
