Default New year round tires for 2013 XF?

I need to replace all 4 tires - have Continentals - but tire place manager suggested Falken 2E960 for about $500 less overall
I don’t want to overspend as it’s a used car - but I don’t know if this is a good recommendation
Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forums CraigTed,

I've moved your question from X260 (XF 2015 onwards) to X250 (XF 2007- 2015) forum. Members here with the same model will have opinions.

Graham

I put Nankangs on my car 400 for a full set of 20"

Really surprised how nice they run. Have not used them in cold or snow yet or how well they wear but for 400 bucks on a car (2013 AWD) worth 10K what could go wrong... Waitign for the flame throwers here.

But not worth spending 10% of the value of the car on tires...

I bought a set of Falken ZE950's ( which may be the previous version of the tire you are considering ) in November 2016,which have performed very well for me to date given that I live in the New York City area.Potholes here can extract a heavy toll on tires and suspensions.I've had no issues with the performance of the tires under various conditions to date and would buy again when replacements are needed.

I ended up putting on new Contis 245 - they seem to drive even more smoothly than the other Contis. Next go round I’ll get Falkens.
Thanks for the input - I’m sure I’ll have more questions.

contis and Mich. are great all weather tires on the xf awd ... cheap tires dont belong on a car that has over 300 HP and great handling.

I dont see why not..like the other post said why spend 10% of the cars value on tires?
besides most of the "cheap" brands are made by the big companies or have lisence or contracts with others to make the "cheap" tires.. unles they are really like unheard of brands which I've seen some at like Walmart and the flea markets

I dont think the tires I put on my car are "cheap" Federal theyve been around a long time and mostly made racing tires and recently started making street tires
they are great and we don't have the weather in texas that most of you all do in other areas just the heat which might make them wear more...
but after a year with them, they are great
