Noise on turning off engine
I'm getting a weird noise when I turn the engine off. Anyone else experience a similar sound? Took it to an independent Jag shop and they told me its "normal".
Yep, worn coupler for sure. It's the spring in the coupler rebounding.
Which I suppose is "normal" for an XFR these days seeing as the youngest ones are at least six years old!

Thanks Guys. Will be taking it into the shop shortly to have the repair work done. Its a 2012 XFR with 76k miles so a little surprised running into this issue with low mileage
They all seem to get the shutdown clunk eventually. Often much lower than 70k miles. I don't believe it does any harm and can keep like that for years. So not sure it's pressing to address it (interested in what others think)
However your engine seems to have a lot of clatter. Maybe just as it's direct injection. But could also be timing chains worn. That's a more serious issue if that's the case.

Yes usually starts at a much lower mileage. My 2014 XJR it started around 20K-25K miles. I did not even notice it until this forum alerted me to the noise. Then I opened the door and shut the radio off before I turned the car off. Then it was pretty obvious. I am at 51K miles now and have the snout just have not gotten around to swapping it out yet.
Also consider putting the solid coupler in BUT there have been a few problems using those too. So you have several choices.
