So ive recently got a 2013 XFR and im just curious about a noise that is audible with music off but not loud really. Its on medium to hard accelerating and it sounds kinda like faint chuffing, or a dull clicking sound. if that makes sense. It sure doesn't sound like rod knock and most likely not pinging as its the same sound through a couple tanks of gas, both 91 and 93 octane. Also hard to post video as camera doesn't pick up the sound very good. taking it in to get airbag recall done and gonna get them to check on it then but wanted to know your guys opinons too.
Saw a couple posts that could have been related to my sound and some noted the secondary air intake or something can make a noise like this?

Took it to the dealer and I mentioned maybe its something loose in the engine bay too and they said might have been a vaccum hose hitting engine cover. They put foam on it and said it reduced sound but to my ear it didnt. Just hoping its nothing.... and not a sign of a failure coming.injectors going? or some kinda internal issue. They didnt seem worried i dont think haha

 

how many miles? do you know how to take a video with your phone and post it?

 

 

Hi did you ever find out what noise was as I have same faint pop / click noise when hitting accelerator and if ic come off accelerator. No other effects on proformance etc.

 

It might be the fuel injectors/rail making the sound. I hear it on moderate and full acceleration. It's also noticeable at idle if your window is down and there is a wall next to you (like in a drive through).
