OBD II Reader
Hi All,
Is there a specific OBD II Reader needed for Jags?
My Ranger Rover (RIP) would only work with ones that support CAN EXT protocol. unfortunately when I was crashed into and the RR Towed - some one stole the OBD II Reader from the Trunk (Boot).
Advice appreciated.

All the good ones will work on a Jag but many (me included!) have found the Jag / Land Rover specific iCarsoft i930 and iCarsoft LR V2.0 to work very well.
The LR V2.0 is a fancier version of the i930 and does a few more things, and it also costs a bit more.

I have a used a generic code reader on my Jag. It has to work because OBDII is a standard. If it didn't work with OBDII readers, you wouldn't be able to get a state inspection in states that require connecting to the ECU.
Looking at the specks of the iCarsoft, it literally does nothing a basic OBDII reader couldn't do. But it looks like they lock you to one car which is stupid.
Now if it could do things like program keys, then it would make sense to get a model specific OBDII reader.

Coz it does a helluva lot more than a basic code reader.

About the only thing it doesn't do is program keys.
