Default Oil filter location

Can anybody tell me where the oil filter is located on my 09 3.0d xf. I've googled, you tubed and searched high and low to no avail. I've removed the tray to access the drain plug and the tray forward of that, as one illustration I've seen shows the filter located there. No joy. I've trmoved the tray above the engine, as another source shows the filter located there likewise no joy. I've changed more filters in my lifetime than I care to remember, but never had such difficulties just trying to find it. Any help much appreciated.

From the 2010 XF 3.0D Workshop Manual. Does this get you any closer to it?

I thought the same type of oil filter housing placed front left on the XK and F-PACE engines was eccentric but this is an even odder choice of location.

Use the special tool designed to remove the filter housing so it doesn't become distorted or cracked.

Thanks guys. I found it in the meantime. Because I had the car up on ramps, my view of the "hollow" that it sits in, wasn't too clear. And the special tool that I used was a 32mm socket. Job done, thanks again and Seasons greetings to all.
