Default P0106 Code!!

Recently,

Check engine light came up and took to local independent mechanic to troubleshoot the code. The code says P0106 (Manifold Absolute Pressure). The shop told to replace the MAP Sensor to fix the code.

Bought the part OEM (AJ813840) from roverjaguarparts.com and get the mechanic to replace it. For the first day, it runs fine. On the second day, the check engine light came up again after a few mile drive.

What's exactly wrong with the code? Since I've replaced the MAP Sensor and thought it should be fixed now. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is it the same code?

If it is, the freeze frame data may help explain why it's flagging. (I don't have a fully detailed Jaguar OBD ref for your car but for somewhat similar Jaguars P0106 flags under quite a complex set of conditions.)

Yes, it is the same code.

It says that it something to do with the circuit. I'm confused now

After a few checks, it now throws a bunch of codes:

P0113 - Intake Air Temperature

P0102 - MAF Circuit Low

P010B - Mass or Volume Flow "B" Circuit

P003C - Intake Camshaft Profile Control Stuck of "B"

Any ideas?

If it's not a tired battery then start checking wiring etc.

I have had this code popping up ever few weeks for 6 months. I however noticed any issues and my mechanic said it could be vaccumm tubes and I hav3 not replaced it. I can't tell if I'm getting worse mpg because I drive like a bat outta hell and get 13mpg always. Today though for the first time my car completely shut off while driving, and it was scary. Don't know if it's related.

Same thing happened to me. Dealership replaced mass airflow sensor ( or was it the maps absolute pressure sensor ) ...it went away and came back on again.

dealership then tried resetting the sensor ...telling me it's not calibrated or something. The light came back next day...this time they said I had carbon buildup in the intake manifold. They cleaned it for free for me as a "good gesture " (I'm under jaguar extended warranty--so I also wud feel I shouldn't pay for something like that happening ). They told me it's regular maintenance to clean carbon buildup from the intake manifold... I think it's because my engine 5.0 L is just direct injection and not port

This is why we sell and do a decarb service. To remove carbon off the throttle body. Dirty throttles are the number one reason you get a p0106 map code. And not just jaguars but a lot of other makes with the same system. Yeah "maintenance" with all those things people think are sold but not worth anything. My daughters chevy, same fault. Cleaned the throttle blade and pulled the map and cleaned. All good now.

except you replaced yours. I advocate cleaning both. you can always replace the map sensor later if cleaning doesn't fix. It easy and right in front, now on the older engine in back and you cant see them. Sorry you're getting a new one because they're hard to get at and reinstall after cleaning. those are a lot more labor intensive.

I chose the
Innova 3030 Innova 3030
and it's done the job. Happily, I haven't had to use it in awhile.

Do you clean the throttle body by removing it first,
or just spray one side of the throttle body plate?
