Default P2187

car threw a code on the way home . 3.0 Xf by the way and once i checked the code it was a too lean code .
popped the hood looked for obvious signs an saw my intake filter was completely off the tube my fault wasn’t tight enough but would something like that cause this code to throw ?

Yes, that would absolutely cause a lean code.

With the filter off, unmetered air is getting into the engine. The computer is adding fuel based on the air it measures through the sensor, but extra air is sneaking in after it. This throws off the fuel mix, making it too lean and triggering the code.

Just reclamp the filter properly and you'll likely be fine.

My car throws p2187 and p2189. They are always there. I clear them but they come back. Car runs fantastic and there are no signs of anything wrong. They were there with the stock intake and they remained with the Mina gallery CAI system. Don’t really know what to do until the car does something I can pinpoint

The codes are easily found on the net so maybe fix the issue(s).
