The ornaments are not put on routinely owners are adding those on their own these days - correct?

That is correct. I have never seen a leaper on a new XF at the dealership. They did offer to install one when I bought mine though, but I passed.

Smile My 09 XF Supercharged

This is my 2009 XF Supercharged. I got this as a Father's Day gift from my Dad. It had only 9k miles when I got it. My Mom has a tough time walking and he could no longer get her around in it. When I mentioned that my beloved Pontiac G8 had about 140K miles, he decided to give it to me as, like him, I am a lover of fine automobiles. I really love it. The only problem is that my better half keeps wanting to borrow it!

It looks fabulous. However, all Jaguars I have seen with light leather seem to get dirty very quickly.

I hope your colour is sufficiently dark not to show the dirt.

I put my leaper on not long after I bought my XF. I had it a few weeks until I decided to commit. I can't imagine mine without it and usually get positive comments. I don't know if I'd put one on the facelift model since they took care of the front design.

I don't think it's a Jaguar thing - just light colors in general get dirty. My old XF had the light interior and I was able to keep it clean but my Lexus SC430 with the light beige interior got dirty after like 10 years...

They need to come up with a redesigned leaper for the XF that allows you to mount it more forward. The leaper looks too far back when it's push back far enough to be upright. The hood on the new Jags is way more sloped than the old ones.

Philhef, I love the LEDs you added. I was thinking of doing the same but do believe it's far more befitting your color than mine.

I did see a 2012 XF with a Leaper, and it looked good to me. The issue is like mentioned, it's often mounted to far back. And what I notice, in pictures, the current models make the ornament look a bit small. Those cat claws need to be as bold as the wings on a Bentley or roller.

Agree the LED's look great, but must admit, not a fan of adding the leaper but I guess that is why they have 21 flavors of ice cream.

My XF Supercharged. I know some of you guys are not a fan of the blacking out of the trim, but I don't like chrome. I blacked out the inside of the stock Volans to give it a little more aggressive look.

Funny you should say that, I've got them on order

Tries a chrome wrap but can't get round the corners without creases so going for a proper job. Will post new pics when done.
