Default Portfolio Diffuser Upgrade - Complete

This mod has been on my list since before I bought the XF, after I saw @hendogg8 's sport package, for a couple reasons. One is aesthetics - I simply like the look better, the other is that this is now a relatively old car, and the stock diffuser is starting to grey out. Yes, I'm aware that dressing it takes it back to black, but I've had enough cars that I have to do that to to want to avoid it with the XF.

The mod is relatively simply - the diffuser is two parts, the upper (C2Z16211) and lower (C2Z16211), with the lower (finned) portion coming pre-painted, and thus quite a bit more expensive. Looking at some older posts (see, for example @stmcknig 's posts #4, https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...1/#post1472382), the pricing on these pieces has gone up a bit - basically $450, new, at a dealer. The problem I encountered with the dealers who discount over the 'net (such as Va Beach or Harpers) almost doubled the price with shipping to SoCal; the problem with the local dealer was the parts dept kept telling me it didnt match my VIN (it doesn't, it was an option), so having a sport package vin (I used hendogg's) was helpful.

Again, in looking at how others have approached this, it appears that the standard is to paint the upper valence body color, which I don't actively dislike, but I preferred the all black contrast to the claret (for examples, see post 5 in the above thread, if you're not familiar - he's using the same parts I did), so I had my local shop match the two pieces before install.

Anyway, here's before:

And after:

Going black on both pieces was a good choice. Nice upgrade.

I agree, black was the way to go for both pieces. Very nice!

For completeness of comparison, and since I cannot edit the original, here's a Claret XFR 2012 with the upper diffuser painted body color, which I shamelessly stole and then mirror flipped to match my own pics, from https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ettier-240714/

Thank you bealzabubba for the reference, I still personally prefer the black as you have but I also like the swapping of the chrome to black chrome
