Well I found my problem. I connected the ICM into the blue box and the sound started to work perfectly. Was pretty much plug and play.. Any questions just ask! 2011 Xf 33k miles
Okay, I feel like I'm spamming all these threads so let me just stop here. Since this is where I started a quick follow-up. Everything Ive read on this thread is pretty much true. I can confirm a few of the bugs have been fixed and for the most part, the actual interface preferences(F vs C, language, etc.) seemed to be fixed. The exception being having to still fish for the steering wheel heater, no changing the clock on the cluster, the warning stuff that the old radio use to display is gone and so is valet mode. But the only real issue I'm having with it is hardware-wise. I have a 2011 XF and right now you currently need an adapter (that they sent) that goes on the emergency/lock doors wire that comes from the car. From there you need another adapter that goes from that one to the actual screen(I know its as stupid as it sounds) that they didnt send for the emergency light and lock doors. Its a small 4 prong adpater. I can upload a pic but any idea what the adapter may be? Thanks!
I would say that is a "Molex" connector, you need to measure the size & do a search, I have attached something I found, but you need to confirm size etc.....

Is this true per jrx813? Can someone, anyone help me with this? The selection in the settings does nothing for me. Everything just reads celsius. Please, if anyone knows hoe to solve this let me know.

Idk man mine was as simple as changing it in the settings so you might have a defected set. Don’t put that past these…
Thanks, I have 2 units. A 12 inch for my XK and a 7 Inch for the XF (used in my XK). Sellers all say it's a known defect and not a simple fix on both the XF and XK units. What they don't say is where the problem is. Is it that the blue box or the Canbus box are reading the OEM settings? Mine were set to Fahrenheit and rechecked. Or are Celsius/ Fahrenheit embedded in the code of the Android unit? So how yours is working is a mystery to me when they tell me and others it's a known defect. Appreciate your response.
No problemo Ive noticed the same thing in these threads where someone's works and others don't for no reason besides... yes haha but what i can tell you i did do was connect the ICM into the blue box and looped both the touch screen and the other one(forgot what it was called) and that was pretty much it. The canbus i got was for the xf 12-15 I think it said on it (and I have a xf 2011) but other than my above issue everything seemed pretty plug and play..
I have just installed the Tesla style head in my 2007 XKR with some problems. The display is hard to read in sunlight, not enough contrast or brightness, maybe because my interior is light. Most important is that I now have a passenger air bag warning light on. Re-installed oem radio and light goes out. The harness supplied for the hazard flashe does not fit any plug I can find so they do not work. The supplied camera will not wire directly into the Jaguar reverse lamp, it need a module to sense logic. The antenne does not retract rightaway when car is turned off . The wood grain panel is close match but not a dupicate of the dash.
The Seller did not offer any help after three emails. No gps maps or download was provided either. The bluetooth mic is not installed in the hole in the face panel its on the side of the radio. Lots of small and big issues.

Yes you will want an anti glare screen. I used Photodon to these specs.
Custom Cut Screen Protectors and Privacy Filters Width: 184.15mmHeight: 247.65mm
Film-Type: MXH

Yes because it is ill fitting but you should be connecting the black connector that plugs into the bottom (control panel) to a white plug that needs to partially cut. Then your flashers will work and the airbag light will go out. See the video and watch it carefully. He does it pretty fast.

Not sure I understand this. Camera is powered 12 volt constant and reverse is recognized by the unit.

Yep - wrap it

Thanks again for the info, I have some adeas for the antenna other than adding a service switch in the trunk for car wash. I think a logic relay will work in this application, when ignition is off the radio turns off but stays on for a while, i am thinking the drop in current draw at initial power off would be enough to trigger a logic relay and send down the antenne. Be back once I prove it.
This is the first of these screens I've seen I stalled in a prefacelift
Everything work fine ? Reversing camera ,parking sensors ,GPS, cruise control with radar system ??
and have you seen any right hand drive versions at all ?

I am surprised that your company have not made a Right Hand Model.
This is an English made car.
There must be thousands of cars in the UK that would like this Tesla screen.
May I suggest you develop a RHD model, your sales will ROCKET UP.
Thank you.
Kerbin.

I know these things ultimately come down to personal taste and preference but I like the beautifully crafted look on my 2008 XF. I've gone down a different path and are having apple car play etc installed into the car on 30 Sptember, but retaining the original appearance. The large screen set up of course is a great feature and my 2020 Volvo S90 T6 sport has a large screen and is great to use. But when I get into my Jag I still love the "crafted look".
So you have a pre-facelift with the Denso system installed, is there a carplay unit that will interface with it?
I know Cambo had something, so not sure if your dealing with him?

I like the crafted look.
I have the same layout but as far as i can tell car play is only for facelift models.
Greetings from Melbourne, Australia. My 2008 XF is going in on 30 September to have a number of upgrades since I brought it brand new back in August 2008.
This includes Bowers and Wilkins stereo, reversing camera and the instalation of apply car play retaining the exact appearance as the vehicle is today. There are several YouTube clips of how they can upgrade your exting system and still fully retain its orginal appearance. I'm not a technical guru but it includes replacing a control unit in behind the dashboard and running cables to your centre armrest cubby to provide the USB connection to link your phone etc. It also includes installing an additional microphone in the unit above near the review mirror. My installer says all the control functions currently on the steeering wheel for phone and entertainment will also be able to be used so that it is a fully handsfree system. I intend adding to this post when the work is complete.
My installer recently completed an identical job on a 2009 XF and it's absolutely superb. He has already upgraded all my headlights etc to LED which has been fantastic and works perfectly.
Having a brief stop on my last 2,600 km drive to the Darling River in northern NSW from Melbourne Victoria.
