Default Problem with my touchscreen climate control

Out of the blue, I got in my car and the climate control section on my touch screen is inaccessible. It's a gray color on the screen and I can't access any controls except through the manual knob and buttons below. I've tried to turn off car, turn off climate system, but it still won't re activate the touch screen controls.
All the other touch screen controls are working, audio, comms everything else works, just not the climate, cooled/heated seats and heated steering wheel.
Any suggestions?

Mine has done it twice in the last 3 months. Started working after a shutdown or two.

Just happened today at lunch, after lunch it was working again.

I will be reporting it to my dealer at the next service.

Mine just started doing this also.
Any fix needed or do they tend to reset and cure themselves?

Mine never did it again (at least until I sold her). I did have battery issues all the time. Ended up replacing the battery every spring.

mine sometimes get stuck with the R screen when I start it up. Is there any way to force a reboot to the system, something that doesnt require restarting the whole car

I have seen this at my dealer a few times.
Unfortunately, it requires replacement of the screen or module, I can't remember right off the top of my head.
