Question about Adaptive Dynamics
Hi All
I have a XF S portfolio MY2012 3.0D 8Speed. Front bumper was upgraded to XFRS. I recently purchased a clone Mangoose and could use SDD. One of the options I tried is to modify front bumper. However, when I choose XFRS bumper and after downloading to modules, I get two warnings with airbag light on: “pedestrians protection system fault” (red) and “adaptive dynamic fault” (amber). When I switch back to standard sport bumpers they go away. I have 14.5v 30A power supply connected.
any idea why that could happen? I guess the wiring loom are the same. Bumper has all front parking sensors and Pedestrian sensors installed. I disconnected one of sensors and it thought the DTC. I have to say that when I select bumper shape, a washed out box seems to be shown that resembles adaptive cruise radar and mine doesn’t have one fitted. A side note is that front parking sensors and reverse camera doesn’t work but both were installed from factory. Whoever is installed front bumper did not bother to drill a hole for inner front sensors and they are currently behind bumper cover. Could it cause any issue if rear sensors work?
My another question is, how can I tell if my car has adaptive dampers? They are green, a wire is attached to them from top, I see adaptive suspension “control” module installed in boot but no pump and other stuff. I have “dynamic mode” key.
I know I am possibly confusing many things together and I would appreciate your input. Any test I could do?
Many Thanks in advance

If you have wires from the suspension you have adaptive dampers fitted. There's no pump as they're electronic. You should feel your suspension stiffen up in Dynamic mode.
You're in the UK, so pop into a Jaguar dealer, or call them, give them your VIN & ask them for a build sheet - a list of all the equipment the car was built with.
