Default Remap

Well i went and had the car remapped which gave me 290 bhp from the original 240 bhp and the torque went to 575 from 500.

And to be quite honest i cant feel the difference its made.
Oh yea they said it would be 15% more fuel efficency.

Wether that was a waste of £299 i will wait and see, But i do love the private number plate i purchased she looks good with that on it now.

Maybe next upgrade will be window tinting, but to honestly say the car runs and looks great to say ive only had it a month, was a ford person and vauxhall before the jag and wow what a difference.
The smooth drive and comfort is unreal.

How do you know the bhp and torque went up? And over what power band? If just at peak revs then you may not feel it anyway. Did you get dyno before and after? If not it may not be real... who did you use?

As a rule of thumb a 10% difference or higher should be noticeable. Sounds like there may be something else wrong or that the tune isn’t working properly.

Horsepower is torque times RPM divided by 5252. Manufactures cheat a little, or a lot, by usually only quoting peak numbers. That breaks the equation, since they are plucking two peaks off the same dyno run that don't happen at the same time from a driver's perspective, which is (usually) limited to one moment at a time. Without seeing the curves, quoting various peaks doesn't mean a whole lot because the RPM where those peaks occur is unknown.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in London for a remap? I used a local place before and got good results on an Alfa Romeo but that was a few years ago. I've asked them for a quote anyway,

I note this company quote the same figures as the OP

Original HP:241Original Nm:500Tuned HP:290Tuned Nm:575HP Increase:49Nm Increase:75% Increase:20%% Increase:15%

sorry guys been away,

Yes Jfire that was what i got quoted (Original HP:241Original Nm:500Tuned HP:290Tuned Nm:575HP Increase:49Nm Increase:75% Increase:20%% Increase:15%)

And yes i have now noticed more power now, and also my fuel consumption is alot better than it was.

Mine was remapped through the ECU and not on a rolling rd.

cheers

I would not use any tune that has no history on this forum. Many people have tuned their cars and we know what works.

What brand is your tune?
That's very cheap which is suspicious?
I have a velocity AP tune and it's $1000.
