Default Removal of back seat just to remove tint ?

My XF came with some very light tint and I want to get limo tint all the way around like I ususally do on my cars.. However, one guy I spoke to said he would have to take out the rear seat, among other things, due to the location of the window brake light to properly remove the old tint.

Is this yet another guy trying to rip me off when it comes to doing stuff to my sexy new Jag?

Removal may be a problem if the heater is not inside the glass. If it is, I would skip the rear window and just do the sides.

Seat removal may be required to enable access, sounds like your guy wants to do a quality job.

I agree, be careful of the defroster wires. Most tint shops warn you that these wires "could" break during removal and disclaim any responsibility should that occur. Keep in mind that it usually does not happen, but a word to the wise.
