Default Removing Adaptive Headlight

My MoT Tester picked up an insecure headlight problem, both mounting lugs were broken (I suspect it's been a problem for a very long time). I removed the light to repair it, there's a hydraulic connection and despite searches I have been unable to find out the proper procedure for disconnecting and reconnecting this hose. Can somebody pleae point me in the right direction? Spoiler alert, I went ahead and disconnected it, lost a small amount of fluid (what is this fluid, where is the reservoir, do I need to bleed it?

Many thanks in Advance, Malcolm

Do you mean the connection to the Powerwash Jet? If so, the feed hose is a push fit and comes from the combined Screenwash/Powerwash Reservoir.

There are three Headlamps listed for the first generation XF:
Non H.I.D. to VIN S20752
H.I.D. to VIN S20752
H.I.D. from VIN S20753

The third type is significantly different.

No such thing as a stupid question - especially when it involves Jaguar plastic. Breaks if you even look at it the wrong way and costs more than its weight in gold to replace.

If you have High Intensity Discharge headlamps (HIDS) fitted then you must have headlamp washers & self-levelling headlamps. Halogen lamps don't need any of that!

Yes - prob the bi-xenon headlights on the 2010. It's the washer jet which is hidden behind the silver patch on the front of the unit

Those plastic tabs break easily. An easy and free fix - find a large metal washer and use that to replace the broken plastic tab
It's not a great design - as you tighten the headlamp screw it puts a lot of twisting pressure on that tab. I've had metal washers on mine for years and it's perfect.
