I just hadn't noticed it, but today I looked, and there it was ... :-(

Noting that I had to be quite quick between steps, any delay prevented it going into reset mode.

VERY HELPFUL!! Just had that exact problem today for the same reason. Now I know what to do, thank you for posting.

 

And just to add, like the others, it took many attempts before I could entice the car to go into "resetting" mode. By trial and error I found that I needed to get through the entire sequence basically as fast as I possibly could - probably about 2 seconds, and then I reached the resetting screen. And I had to do that maybe 10 times before it actually completed the reset. No clue what (if anything) was different on attempt #10, other than it worked.
