Default Retrofit Instrument Cluster

Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit the newer color-screen enabled instrument cluster to an 09 with the older mono screen? Just wondering as I really like the color one....

TIA

While I won't say it's impossible I will say you won't want to do it.

Just too much work and expense. If it's a big deal I would change cars.

If you can keep all the circuitry but just swap the aesthetic parts then the car won't know it's changed. Otherwise I think it'll go into anti-theft or similar.

Interesting question, most of problems would be in the system itself..

I can't imagine for a second this would work - the computer system will almost certainly be sending a different signal to the color screen to display all the different colors. At best you'd have a color screen displaying all white.

I sure wish you could as while my '11 XFR was in the shop they gave me a '13 XF 3.0. The center color screen and upgraded Nav screen was annoying when I got back in my XFR. At least mine goes like stink compared to the 3.0
