I’ve purchased a new disc to replace the original one from 2011 however it takes the disk into the drive then ejects it shortly after I’ve also tried putting the original back in but get the same issue. I’ve opened up the unit but can’t see and obvious signs of damage. If I purchase another secondhand unit are they interchangeable?

 

Might be worth running a cleaning disc through the unit. You can change the unit without any coding.

 

I did try a lens cleaner but it just did the same oddly the disc comes out the same way it went in meaning it must not be spinning I assume the second mechanism that lowers the disc onto the hub is not functioning properly. However it’s finally reading the new disc so will leave it alone for now while it’s working 😂
