I predict this video will be saved 1000s of times and used and re used over and over.

I felt I had to make this video to make people aware that it's a matter of time, and if you can save some money and get it done, your jag will last a long time ,if you can't do it yourself, have a trusted mechanic do it,no more coolant smell, all the parts are inexpensive, make sure you bleed it right get all air pockets out, my next video I'll show how to do it correctly

Dennis, how hard is it to get that rear crossover pipe replaced? Mine is fine right now but I worry about it constantly.

I had the front Y pipes replaced with the new seamless plastic ones a while ago and they seem to be OK. But again....I worry. Wish you were local to me here in Maine!

The rear pipe if it's your first time can be a challenge ,if you have the right tools, it's not so bad ,ill be making another video on how to do it with the tools you need
,and parts,

This is for the 5.0 engine, 4.2 doesn't have this issue correct?

For the V6 and V8 Supercharged the the parts are the same accept the rear crossover pipe, non Supercharged 4.2 V8 I'll check for you , they don't make the rear V8 Metal crossover pipe yet only for the V6. But you can get the front pipes ,some models came stock with metal pipes

The 4.2 V8 does not have this pipe issue….but it does have a plastic thermostat unit which tends to degrade, allowing plastic bits to jam the thermostat itself. Easy to replace.

Please guys check your pipes ,before installing, when they first came out a few years ago ,they sent me some prototypes, and were off by a 1/8 inch ,so I contacted them and they resolved the issue, but there are some replicas out there so match everything, to be on the safe side,(just a heads up)

Also I took the o rings of and replaced them with OEM , use lube when inserting them , the F-type and Xj and my Xf are going strong, the F-type is a year and 6 months no issues

I know this thread is pretty old but do they make a metal thermostat housing for the 4.2 V8?
