Seat Heater Regulator
I have a '13 XF with heated front seats. I enjoy driving in the fall/winter/spring with the heat on however the Jag seats get way too hot to leave on for any length of time. The three settings seem to be medium, well and toast! Does anyone know if there is a regulator replacement/upgrade that would turn down the heat? Thx.
No adjustment. I find the seat heaters take way too long to get warm, and then they become too hot. And, the back seems hotter than the bottom but you can't switch it to bottom heat only. I think the best strategy is turn it to the highest setting for 2 minutes, then switch to the lowest setting.
Thanks guys - appreciate your feedback. I don't mind starting the seat heater on low, problem is it will cook me even on the low setting. I cannot leave the seat heater on for more than 10 minutes for fear of 2nd degree burns...
The heaters come on very quickly even in very cold weather and high is for short term use only.
I find I can select seat back only, switching off the seat cushion, and leaving it on the lowest setting but the seat cushion has to be switched off.
Unlike most such systems there is no automatic thermostatic off switch. I wish Jaguar would get up to the minute (or at least as modern as a 1978 SAAB) and fit heated seats you could just switch on in October and switch off in April. My SAAB seat heaters stay on all winter as the internal thermostat in the seat cushion moderates the operation to around 55F or so on low.
