What that means is that your scheduled Oil Change is getting closer to the due date, either in miles (15,000 or maybe less depending on driving conditions) or in time (12 months)..Doesn't matter, it's which ever comes first. You can expect to see the message staying on longer as you get closer to the needed service time..The dealer will reset the message and it won't come on again until your next due date/time/mileage......get-er-done!

Fixed the issue of service engine on 2013 XJ

My Service engine light has been going on for about 2 weeks, it has 50, 531 miles on it and I had another 1k miles to go on the il change. I decided since my yearly Texas Safety inspection was due I would just go ahead and do the oil change also. After it was done the oil change guy came to the car and asked if I knew how to reset the car message. I said no and he went to look it up. he came back and said " Push both the Gas & Brake to the floor and hold for 20 seconds with the engine off"...........so I did........and it frigging worked. So you might try it and see if it works on yours.
