Small clunk felt in gas pedal from 1st to 2nd gear??
Hello.
I have a 2011 XFR with 95k miles. Recently while shifting from first to second gear I can hear a faint clunk. also I can feel it in the gas pedal. It usually only happens on the very first shift from first to second gear. Although occasionally it will happen on the downshift from second to first gear, but when that happens it's much more aggressive. This is all while driving slow.
I guess I should have the trans and diff fluid changed. I don't think it's a transmission or engine mount?
Somewhere I rememeber reading that this transmission has a plastic piece that is prone to breaking. Not sure if this is related and I cant seem to find that post.
Any input is much appreciated. Thanks!!

Are you sure it's not the ABS braking? It runs a self test the first time you get to something like 10-15 mph (maybe even below that). With a noticeable clunk through the pedals and car seat. Only the first time after starting the engine?
If not then I'd start with fluid changes.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes it only happens during the very first shift.
I don't think it has to do the braking system. If I have it in manual mode it always happens at the exact same time as I shift from first to second gear. Weather it be 3 mph or 15mph. (Happens in automatic mode also)
Thanks for the help everyone.

I would start with the fluid. I was having issues like that at 73k. A drain and fill fixed my issues and I’m at 75k now and plan on doing another drain and fill. Make sure you do your adaptation after changing the fluid.
