Smaller Rims for My XF Premium
My 20" Rims provide horrible winter handling not to mention pot hole risks. Does anyone know the smallest size rims that I can buy and install on an XF for December through March driving? Thanks.
Did you fit winter tires to the car? If you kept the summer tires on I'm surprised your car is not in the repair shop! I believe you can easily fit 19" but not sure if you can get down to 18". Check with TireRack.
Tire Rack says you can go 245-45-18" for winter tires. Or, 245-40-19" Or. get 20" winter tires. I warn you that these tires are ultra expensive, and they're not known for long mileage. And, you'd have to purchase an expensive set of wheels.
I had to replace one 45 series 18" tire due to a chuckhole this year and two more tires in a minor collision. The very low profile tires ride hard, and they're easy to shred if you don't watch your road conditions.
I switched over to a Ultra high performance All Season ZF tire (from Bridgestone summer highway tires) as a compromise, and my Lexus handles far better, especially in the rain and snow.
