Default SMART KEY NOT FOUND and don't START engine

Hi everybody, I have a jag XF my2011 3.0D I have a big problem.
After some maintenance (new air flow) the car was disconnected from the battery for 6/7 days and now when you press the start button only the message "key not found" and nothing more.
to know:
-lock/unlock door and imobilizer work good and also open/close mirrors
-battery full charge 12,9 V
-switch brake pedal it's new
-new battery on the key and the comand button work good, light on, open back door
some ideas ???
thx !!!

CJB corrupted due to battery disconnect. Common and known issue. Take it to local JLR specialist to fix or have an engineer who has SDD come out to you to fix.

Hi, is your car a facelift model? Have you checked front and rear junction boxes for water damage? Water getting in the boot or into the front junction box through the washer pump cable can corrode the pins on some of the plugs and cause this sort of issue. It seems to be connected to security details that are stored in the car's memory are lost when the battery is removed. The place where this data is also stored has become damaged, possibly down to water damage that may have happened some time ago, but only becomes apparent when the battery is removed. I have read quite a few posts with similar issues, some with central locking lost and some not starting. I think Jaguar will replace the junction box and charge a hefty fee, but have heard of some success using an AutoLogic device, which I assume is a high end code reader, as a specialist. Not sure on the rules on posting specific details but I did see a link to a place in Milton Keynes. I have no connection to them and haven't used them, but there may be some way of fixing this without the £1500 junction box.

You have to push the key further into the slot to release (ratchet).

You cannot just change the CJB, it's needs programming and more. If you want to fix your problem the answer has already been provided for you:

"Take it to local JLR specialist to fix or have an engineer who has SDD come out to you to fix"

If this has been replaced by a Jaguar dealer, they should have reprogrammed it at the time. Did they replace it or just get it working? It seems like they could copy the data from the stored secondary location and make the car function, but as soon as the power is lost you are back to the same issue. If you have paid for a new CJB and they have not done it properly, I would be asking them to fix it.

I can help remotely with these issues, all what's needed is a windows based Laptop/PC and a J2534 device.

If you have disconnected or replaced the vehicles main battery, or if you have had work done on your vehicle, and than all of a sudden key is not working or vehicle is not starting, I can help you fix this, contact me.
I have also seen this same issue caused by just plugging a diagnostic scanner and scanning the vehicle with a low-voltage battery...
when these vehicles have low-voltage or the power is disconnected the key info gets corrupted between the Immobilizer modules, and the key info has to be rewritten on all the Immobilizer modules.

contact/pm if you need help with this.... also can help with other module/electrical issues if needed...

Love this thread! Same problem - after replacing the battery on my 2013 XF 3.0L, SC, AWD.

Hoping someone can help. Started with "Unable to find Smart Key". Worked my way to key not recognized, so I'll try updating the cluster (as recommended above). Before doing so, I'd like to check fuses that might relate to remote keyless entry control module, central junction box, etc. Looking at the names of each fuse, unable to see any that might be applicable to these, or any of the modules for that matter.

Anyone have any idea, or are all the modules direct wired?

Without yet trying the cluster, I was getting:
BCM B102B message, fault type 67 (Algorithm base failure - signal is incorrect after the event). Central junction box fault? Remote keyless entry fault? Low speed CAN fault? Encrypted data exchange between remote keyless entry control module & central junction box does not match? Then asking me to check power & ground to remote keyless entry control module & central junction box. It's showing the Keyless vehicle module as "unknown".

DO NOT TRY TO PROGRAM CLUSTER, there is a chance you might brick it. Diagnose the issue first, than repair as needed. If you continue to try different procedures you are going to cause more modules to get corrupted. Always diagnose first.
If the vehicle was starting and running prior to the battery replacement than dont waste time on checking fuses and wires, this is a common issue and is an easy fix if it's handled correctly.
If you need help, contact me.

Thank you Tech_JLR!

I'm worried that I might have blown a fuse during the battery replacement. Do you know if there is a fuse for the remote keyless entry control module, central junction box, etc? Looking at the names of each fuse, I'm unable to see any that might be applicable to these, or any of the modules for that matter.

I dont have a diagram in front of me now, but i would check all the fuses regardless since you're in there already. Check the passenger side kick panel fuses, check all the fuses.
you can also test the rear trunk fuses on passenger side, and also test the fuses under the hood.
I dont think its a fuse issue but I could be wrong, and its best to inspect all fuses before proceeding with other repairs.
