Default Start/Stop Button Sticking

Hey y'all, I'm new to the forums and just bought my first Jag. The start/stop button is very hard to press and has to be pressed in a very specific location to get the car to start or stop. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it worth cleaning and trying to fix or is it better to just get a new button? Thanks for the help!

It maybe related to how hard your pressing on the brake pedal when starting the car?
We have had many owners think they had starter button or starter problems when it was just how hard you pressed on the brake pedal when starting.
Check that the brake lights are coming on when the pedal is pressed.

If it is a bad button just buy a new assembly. They pull out of the dash and are not hard to replace.

You will get better answers if we know what car you have? Hard to guess on the internet!

Sorry, it is a 2014 XF 2.0L. It is just very hard to depress at times even with the brake pushed sufficiently. I am also noticing a slight chirping or squeaking sound coming up the left side pillar that I can't figure out where it's originating from .

Not really reported but that part is not expensive so maybe just change it?
Better to stay with one problem at a time?

Start another thread on the noise with a good description for the title of your thread. That way people have some idea of what your working on.
We get all these useless thread titles like I need help or my car is broken. Those don't add anything but confusion to the the problem.
