Success! New 2013 tail lights on my 2010 XF-image.jpg
Finally got my other 2013 tail light so I installed them yesterday. Had to cut wires but they easily color code the exact same wires. I only needed to use resistors on the back up and signal wires, the two green ones on passenger and green and white on drivers sides. No codes thrown, and all works perfectly! Love the new look!!!

What size resistors did you use? I am planning to do that conversion on my 2011 so I am looking to buy the lights.

Honestly, I'll have to ask. I had my brother order them for me and he didn't tel me what they were. I know he looked up the wattage of the two bulbs they replaced.
Not sure I mentioned but e two green wires on the passenger and green and white on the drivers sided are the effected wires. Ideally, if I could have gotten the female end of the harness, I would have wired inside the boot to deal with any water. I still have to finish the waterproof wiring shields.

So you're changing the whole boot lid! I did it the hard way! I actually cut the new lid lights apart, with a dremel, then used silicone and sealed the opening. I drilled holes in the boot lid for the marker wires and wired them to the license plate lights. Used two part epoxy clay to attach. Just to be safe, I even sealed the edges with black silicone caulk.

So if the original XF came with that extra piece, and they removed it in 2012, I wonder how many people with early XFs would take out that piece to be like the new XFs?

Just noticed you did what I did with the chrome letters on the blacked out plinth!
(Just realized wrong photo of my boot before I added chrome letters.)

I dunno.. I personally prefer the look of the earlier lights, but kudos to you for swapping them out for what you like!

Great idea with replacing the trunk lid. I also like the way the center piece has no letters on 2013 and newer. The newer lights make a big difference IMO.

Awesome job! Looks nice. I am not familiar with the lighted center emblem, but it looks sick.
