Due to the fact that the xf has a very specific jacking point design, so as to marry up to the actual jack, I went about looking for a satisfactory way to support the car at the jacking points, without damaging or crushing same. As you probably know, the jack itself has a slot along the top /support, that sits over the jacking point lip. I simply cut some similar slots into the top plate on my axle stands and now I can support the car without doing any damage. Of course, all other safety precautions are taken. Only took a few minutes and didn't cost a penny. Before and after.
Those jacking points on the pinch weld are really only for the emergency jack. There is a diagram with the actual XF jack points - rears are on a triangular metal piece a bit in front of the wheels. Fronts are on two parallel metal pieces quite far under the car. Search on here as others have posted the diagram. Think it's easy to find on google too.
I love how they place the plastic skirts over the jack points. The front location is exactly where the 10mm bolts for the engine skirt is located. I have to wheel the car so that the tires are on blocks to position my lift to fit underneath and then remove the skirting to place the jack stands as my safety supports when working under the vehicle.
