Default Safe jacking points

Exactly where is the best place to safely jack this car with a floor jack? I am concerned that with the aluminum body, I could do some damage depending on where I place the jack. I want to jack from the front if possible to install the show and go plate holder.

Jacking points are marked just under the front of the drivers door behind the wheels, you'll see an arrow embossed there...cannot jack from the front and you won't need to lift the car to install the bracket, it's easy peasy!

On the bottom of the lower rocker panel (facing the ground), you will find arrow shaped indentations stamped into that plastic piece just behind the front wheel arch and just in front of the rears. The arrows point to the jacking points.

On the rear, the arrow points to the mounting plate of a suspension piece. On the front, there's a flat metal chassis structure behind the arrow.

Buick and I were posting at the same time. There's absolutely no need to jack the car to install the Sto-n-Sho.

Thanks guys. Obviously I haven't looked under there myself. I am at the point where I don't bend very well anymore, and thought I needed more clearance to get to that bolt. But I'll get onto this job now with your input. I just received the title transfer from the dealer so can now apply for my plates.

If you can lie down on your back, you can do this.

A stubby Phillips screwdriver will take the OEM plastic center fastener out, and a 10mm socket is all you need to install the stainless steel bolt that comes with the Sto-n-Sho. It is literally a 5-minute (or less) job. It takes more time to fasten your plate to the removable part of the bracket.

Thumbs up Thanks

I searched a lot of different pages on the web and this is the only one that seemed to make any sense in finding the jacking points on my car. Thanks for the help!

Same here. Great info. Also shows the offset points for your jack stands once you are up in the air. Thanks!

This thread has pictures of what the jack points look like and where. The diagram in this thread might not be right. I used these to put on the porterfield pads.
